Media Release 129- Homicide Investigation-3rd Avenue North

Homicide Investigation

The Birmingham Police Department reports detectives are conducting a homicide investigation. The incident occurred on Sunday, July 3, 2022.

The victim has been identified as Datneshia Mosley, (25), b/f, of Birmingham, Alabama.

At approximately 11:45 p.m., officers from the North Precinct responded to a call of a person down at 600 3rd Avenue North. Officers arrived and observed the victim laying in the parking lot unresponsive suffering from a gunshot wound. Birmingham Fire and Rescue transported the victim to UAB where she succumb to her injuries.

The preliminary investigation suggest the incident was domestic in nature. A person of interest has been taken into custody. The investigation is ongoing. Updates will be provided as this case develops.
