Captain Raymond Cochran

Captain Raymond Cochran serves as the Commander of the Birmingham Police Department Tactical Operation Division. Captain Cochran has over thirty-six years of experience in law enforcement with the Birmingham Police Department.

Captain Cochran has served as the Commander of South Precinct, Narcotics Division, Crimes Against Property Division, and Tactical Operation Division.

Captain Cochran is a retired veteran of 29 years with the United States Military (Army Reserves). He was deployed twice during his military career, Operation Desert Storm and Operation Enduring Freedom. Captain Cochran has completed all required leadership training from the military, Primary Leadership Development Course (PLDC), Basic Nocommissioned Officers’ Course (BNCOC), and Advanced Nocommissioned Officers’ Course (ANCOC).

Captain Cochran holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Miles College. Captain Cochran was raised in a religious family with Christian values.
