Deadline extended for people in need of assistance from BPD’s Toy, Coat & Shoe Drive
While the Birmingham Police Department’s collection efforts for the 2020 Toy, Coat & Shoe Drive are ongoing, the deadline for community members to sign up to receive these donations has been extended to Tuesday, December 15.
Those in need of assistance can register at any of the locations below:
- Police Headquarters: 1710 1st Avenue North, Birmingham, AL 35203
- North Precinct: 2600 31st Avenue North, Birmingham, AL 35207
- South Precinct: 1320 19th Street South, Birmingham, AL 35205
- East Precinct: 600 Red Lane Road, Birmingham, AL 35215
- West Precinct: 2236 47th Street Ensley, Birmingham, AL 35208
Please note, items will be distributed on a first come, first served basis or until capacity is reached.
The drive is being conducted through the Birmingham Police Department’s Community Outreach and Public Education (COPE) division in partnership with 98.7 KISS FM, Youth Towers Incorporated and the Mario Addison Community Partnership.
Donations will be accepted through Wednesday, December 16 and can be dropped off at the same locations listed above. All donated items must be new and unused.
