Lieutenant Eric Stisher

Lieutenant Eric Stisher was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. He attended and graduated from Woodlawn High School and has an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice from Jefferson State Community College.

Lieutenant Stisher has over 22 years of Law Enforcement; starting with training at the Birmingham Police Academy in December 8, 1997. Lieutenant Stisher graduated the academy and was assigned to West Precinct. He worked as a wreck investigator for the Morning Shift. He was also a Field Training Officer for over 10 years and trained several new officers. Lieutenant Stisher was transferred to the Birmingham Police Academy in 2012 where he worked as an instructor.

Lieutenant Stisher was promoted to Sergeant in 2015 and was assigned as a Morning Shift Sergeant at East Precinct. He was then transferred to the Birmingham Police Academy in 2018 as the Training Sergeant.

After his promotion to Lieutenant in 2019, he was assigned as the Delta Shift Commander at North Precinct. He is currently assigned as the Academy Director.

Lieutenant Stisher also retired as a First Sergeant after serving 27 years in the U.S. Army/ Army Reserves with four combat tours.
