Lieutenant Rodarius Mauldin

Lieutenant Rodarius Mauldin embarked on his law enforcement journey in 2005 with the Alabama State Board of Pardons & Parole, where he served as a Probation Officer and Investigator. In 2010, he joined the Birmingham Police Department, starting as a Patrol Officer at the South Precinct. He later became a part of the High Intensity Community Oriented Policing Unit.

Throughout his career, Mauldin served in various positions to include Patrol Officer, Community Project Coordinator, Dignitary Protection Detail, and a Crimes Against Property Detective. He also contributed significantly while assigned to the Hiring and Recruiting Unit.

Recognized for his dedication, Mauldin was promoted to Sergeant in 2019 and served as a Shift Sergeant in the Patrol Division at West Precinct. He was subsequently appointed as the Public Information Officer for the Birmingham Police Department, where he established and supervised the Public Information Division. In 2022, he earned the rank of Lieutenant and was designated as the Executive Assistant to the Assistant Chief of Police.

Mauldin holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Alabama A&M University, where he majored in Sociology and Business Administration with a minor in Criminal Justice. He has completed several leadership and professional development programs including the Jefferson County Personnel Board MPACT Program, Managers Preparing to Accomplish Change Today. Throughout his law enforcement career, he has received multiple awards and accolades including the FBI Trilogy Award and the Director’s Award.

Mauldin is a Birmingham native that is passionate about servant and adaptive leadership. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, traveling and real estate. Mauldin strives to promote continuous growth through learning, fostering collaboration within and beyond the department, and utilizing innovation as a catalyst for progress to meet the ever-changing needs of the community.  Mauldin is a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc.
