Lieutenant Stephen White

Lieutenant Stephen White’s career with the Birmingham Police Department began on September 3, 1985. After graduating from the Birmingham Police Academy, he was assigned to the North Precinct. Lieutenant White was transferred to the Detective Bureau and subsequently assigned to the Robbery Unit and the F.B.I. Task Force.

Lieutenant White was promoted to the rank of Sergeant on January 18, 1997. After this promotion, he was assigned to the Family Services Unit, supervising the Gang Task Force. He was later reassigned to the East Precinct, Evening Shift. After working several years at the East Precinct, Lieutenant White was reassigned to the Community Service Division as a School Resource Officer (S.R.O) and Gang Resistance Education and Training (G.R.E.A.T.) supervisor.

Lieutenant White was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on July 2, 2011. His first assignment as a lieutenant was South Precinct Morning Shift Commander. He remained in that position until his transfer to the Detective Bureau on July 11, 2015. He was assigned to Investigation Operations, supervising the Auto Theft and Financial Crimes Units until July 20, 2019. He is currently assigned to West Precinct. Lieutenant White has over 38 years of law enforcement experience.
