Public’s Assistance with the Kijuan Harrell Homicide Investigation
Birmingham Police Homicide detectives request assistance from the public in obtaining information on a homicide that occurred on Saturday, June 23, 2018, in the 500 Block of Valley Avenue that claimed the life of Kijuan Harrell.
At around 1:20 a.m., South Precinct officers responded to the 500 block of Valley Avenue on report of a Person Shot call. Officers observed Kijaun Harrell in the front passenger seat of a vehicle, wounded by gunfire. Kijuan was 20 years old.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel arrived and transported the victim to UAB Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The preliminary investigation indicates someone fired shots from a black vehicle, believed to be a Nissan Maxima.
