Homicide Investigation
The Birmingham Police Department is conducting a homicide investigation. The incident occurred on Saturday, June 11, 2022.
The victim has been identified as:
Morrion Hamilton, (43), B/M, of Birmingham, Alabama.
At approximately 4:40 PM, East Precinct officers were dispatched to the 7500 Block of 66th Courtway South on report of a person shot. Officers arrived on the scene when they observed the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Officers rendered aid to the victim by applying pressure on his wounds. Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel arrived on the scene and transported the victim to UAB Hospital. UAB Hospital staff pronounced the victim deceased.
The preliminary investigation suggests the victim was involved in an argument with an unknown suspect. The suspect fired shots at the victim then fled the scene in an unknown vehicle.
Currently, there is no one in custody.
