Homicide Investigation
The Birmingham Police Department is conducting a homicide investigation. The incident occurred on Sunday, September 11, 2022.
The victim has been identified as:
Nickelas Kristerpher Kelley, (21), B/M, of Birmingham, Alabama.
At approximately 11:29 PM, West Precinct officers received a shot spotter activation simultaneously a citizen called advising they heard shots fired in the area of the 6100 block of Avenue O. While canvassing the area officers observed the victim next to his vehicle suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel arrived to the scene and declared the victim deceased.
Currently, there is no one in custody.
