Homicide Investigation
The Birmingham Police Department is conducting a homicide investigation. The incident occurred on Tuesday, September 20, 2022.
The victim has been identified as:
Stephen Lawrence Scott Jr., (19), B/M, of Irondale, Alabama.
At approximately 9:50 PM, South Precinct officers were dispatched to the 1700 Block of Aspen Run (Adonna Apartments) on report of a person shot.
Officers arrived on the scene when they located the victim lying unresponsive inside of a vehicle suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Officers also located a second adult male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue (BFR) personnel arrived on the scene and pronounced the victim deceased. BFR transported the second victim to UAB Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Details are limited in this investigation. Currently, there is no one in custody.
