Homicide Investigation

The Birmingham Police Department is conducting a homicide investigation. The incident occurred on Wednesday, August 28, 2024.

The victim has not been identified yet.  

Just after 6:30 a.m., West Precinct officers were dispatched to a Person Down call in the 2900 Block of Avenue F.

Officers arrived on the scene when they observed a male victim lying unresponsive. Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel arrived and pronounced the victim deceased.

The preliminary investigation suggests the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office arrived on the scene and later determined the victim had been shot.

There is no one in custody.
