Homicide Investigation
The Birmingham Police Department is conducting a homicide investigation. The incident occurred on Wednesday, September 18, 2024.
The victim will be identified upon notification to the next of kin.
At approximately 10:40 p.m., South Precinct Officers responded to a call of Shots Fired in the 2100 block of Magnolia Avenue South, Brother Brian Park.
When officers arrived on the scene, they observed an adult male victim, lying in the park unresponsive and suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue Services arrived on the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.
The preliminary investigations suggest witnesses heard gunshots fired and observed people running from the park and called 911 Emergency Services.
There is no one in custody.
