Suspect in Custody after Fatal Hit & Run

The Birmingham Police Department reports Hit & Run Investigators are conducting a hit and run investigation after a person was fatally struck on Interstate-59 South.

On Thursday, September 23, 2021, at around 12:25 p.m., East Precinct officers were dispatched to Interstate-59 South near the Roebuck Parkway Exit on report of a person struck. Officers arrived on the scene and observed a male lying unresponsive near an interstate guardrail off of the roadway.
