Media Release 232 – Homicide Investigation – 4500 Block Richard Arrington Jr Blvd

Homicide Investigation

The Birmingham Police Department is conducting a homicide investigation. The incident occurred on Wednesday, November 9, 2022.

The victim has been identified as:

Montrial Tremain Hardy (21), of Birmingham, Alabama.

 At approximately 2:00 PM, South Precinct officers were dispatched to the 4500 block of Richard Arrington, Jr. Boulevard North on a Shot Spotter notification. Moments later Birmingham 9-1-1 received a call that an adult male had been shot.

Upon arrival officers observed the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel arrived at the scene and transported the victim to UAB Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Currently, there is no one in custody.

 This is Birmingham’s 119th murder investigation of 2022 including 8 justifiable death investigations.

FBI Uniform Crime Reporting guidelines do not require law enforcement agencies to include justifiable death investigations into the total homicide investigations counts.
