Homicide Investigation

 The Birmingham Police Department reports detectives are conducting a homicide investigation. The incident occurred on Sunday, October 10, 2021.

The victim has been identified as Christian Deon Raspberry, (20), of Birmingham, Alabama.

 At 2:30 p.m., officers responded to  4128 41st Avenue North after a vehicle collided with cars parked in the front of the residence. Upon arrival officers discovered a male in the driver seat of the wrecked car unresponsive. It was determined the victim suffered from a gunshot wound. Birmingham Fire and Rescue responded to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.

Three persons of interest were detained in connection to this investigation. A motive has not been established in this investigation.

 This is Birmingham’s 80th homicide investigation of 2021 with 12 justifiable death investigations. The Birmingham Police Department adheres to FBI Uniform Crime Reporting guidelines set for all law enforcement agencies across the United States. FBI Uniform Crime Reporting guidelines do not require law enforcement agencies to include justifiable death investigations into the total homicide investigations counts.

 **The information is based on a preliminary and ongoing investigation, which continues to evolve as investigators interview witnesses, review physical and electronic records, and analyze forensic evidence. The Department’s understanding of the facts and circumstances may change as additional evidence is collected and analyzed**
