Shooting Investigation
The Birmingham Police Department is conducting a shooting investigation. The incident occurred on Monday, November 29, 2022.
At approximately 3:30 PM, East Precinct officers were dispatched to the 600 Block of Valley Crest Drive, The Park at Sunderland Apartments, on report of a person shot.
Officers arrived on the scene and observed a 14-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound. He was alert and able to communicate with officers.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue (BFR) personnel arrived on the scene and transported the victim to Children’s Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Currently there are no suspects in custody.
