Public’s Assistance with the Roderick Walker Homicide Investigation
Detectives request assistance from the public in obtaining information on a homicide that occurred on Friday, March 8, 2024, in the 4300 Block of Avenue U that claimed the life of Roderick Walker.
At approximately 12:40 a.m., West Precinct officers were dispatched to a Shot Spotter alert in the 4300 Block of Avenue U. While en route officers were updated, a person was shot in the 4200 Block of Avenue U.
Officers arrived on the scene when they observed Roderick suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel arrived on the scene and transported him to UAB Hospital. UAB Hospital staff pronounced him deceased.
