Homicide Investigation
The Birmingham Police Department is conducting a homicide investigation. The incident occurred on Sunday, November 17, 2024.
The victim will be identified upon notification to the next of kin.
Just after 12:30 a.m., East Precinct officers were dispatched to a Person Shot call in the 1000 Block of Huffman Road.
Officers arrived on the scene when they observed an adult male gunshot victim lying unresponsive on the ground near several businesses in the area.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel arrived and transported the victim to UAB Hospital with life-threatening injuries. Around 3 p.m., the Jefferson County Coroner’s Officer notified our dispatchers the victim succumbed to his injuries.
Details are limited in this investigation.
There is no one in custody.
