BPD and Law Enforcement Partners Rescue Toddlers Taken in East Birmingham Vehicle Theft
On Thursday, November 21, 2024, at around 10 a.m., East Precinct officers were dispatched to a Stolen Vehicle call at 5605 Clifford Circle (New Season Tri County Treatment Center).
Irondale and BPD officers arrived on the scene when they learned three suspects were involved in the theft of a pickup truck left running at the location. The pickup truck had a 4-year-old girl and 2-year-old boy inside.
BPD officers along with Tarrant PD officers and the U.S. Marshals Service responded to a residence in the 1700 Block of Burgin Avenue. Officers took two of the three suspects into custody. Officers then recovered the stolen truck along with the two children; they were safe. Medical personnel evaluated the children on the scene. The children were reunited with their parents.
BPD officers transported the two suspects to BPD Headquarters where BPD Felony Assault detectives interviewed them. The two suspects were later released.
Investigators are actively searching for the third suspect who is believed to be the stolen vehicle’s driver and the only suspect who occupied the stolen vehicle.
