Homicide Investigation

The Birmingham Police Department is conducting a homicide investigation. The incident occurred on Friday, December 24, 2021.

The victim has been identified as:

Jesse James Valone, (29), W/M, of Greenville, South Carolina.

At approximately 11:55 a.m., West Precinct officers were dispatched to the 2800 block of 30th Street Southwest on report of a suspicious vehicle. Officers arrived on the scene and observed a silver Dodge pickup truck parked on the street. Upon further investigation, officers observed a male who was unresponsive in the vehicle suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel arrived on the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.

Details are limited in this investigation. Currently, there is no one in custody.
