Homicide Investigation Update
The Birmingham Police Department reports a victim’s identity has been confirmed in connection with a homicide investigation. The incident occurred on Sunday January 5, 2019 at approximately 10:21 p.m.
The victim has been identified as:
Stacey Flournoy, W/F, 32, of Birmingham, Alabama.
Officers from the East Precinct responded to a call of a person shot at 3838 39th Court North. Upon arrival officers located the victim unresponsive suffering from a gunshot wound lying next to a car. Birmingham Fire and Rescue reported to the scene and transported the victim to UAB Hospital. Detectives later received information that the victim was pronounced deceased by hospital staff. Detectives were also advised that a male victim was transported to UAB Hospital by private vehicle with a non-life threatening gunshot wound. The second victim is expected to recover from his injury.
There are no suspect(s) in custody. This is an ongoing investigation. Additional details will be provided as they come available.
