Public’s Assistance with the Nia People’s Homicide Investigation

Detectives request assistance from the public in obtaining information on a homicide that occurred on Wednesday, October 12, 2021, that claimed the life of Nia Peoples.

On the morning of Wednesday, October 12, 2021, Nia Peoples was found shot and killed in the 1600 block of 8th Avenue West. The victim was seen getting out of a small dark color SUV; she collapsed shortly after walking away from the SUV.

Anonymous tips can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers through the Birmingham Police Department’s Mobile App. Simply download the app and submit a tip. Updates will be provided as information becomes available. If the tip to Crime Stoppers leads to an arrest, Crime Stoppers will provide a cash reward.
