Arrest Made in the Damone Gardner Homicide Investigation
The Birmingham Police Department reports detectives have obtained a warrant for an arrest in connection to the murder of Damone D’Trivoni Gardner. He was shot and killed on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, in the 300 Block of 27th Street Southwest.
The suspect has been identified as:
Bandon Quartrez Jemison, (41), B/M, of Birmingham Alabama.
On Thursday, January 2, 2025, Birmingham Police Detectives presented case information to the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office. After an assessment of the information, detectives obtained a warrant for Murder.
The suspect is in the custody of the Jefferson County Jail and has No Bond.

Homicide Investigation
The Birmingham Police Department is conducting a homicide investigation. The incident occurred on Tuesday, September 24, 2024.
The victim has been identified as:
Damone Gardner, (34), B/M, of Birmingham, Alabama.
At approximately 8:25 p.m., West Precinct officers were dispatched to a ShotSpotter Alert in the 300 Block of 27th Street Southwest.
Officers arrived on the scene when they observed the victim lying unresponsive in the roadway suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel arrived and pronounced the victim deceased.
The preliminary investigation suggests an unknown suspect was arguing with the victim and during the argument the suspect shot the victim then fled the scene. This homicide may be connected to the Malike Williams Homicide Investigation from 2714 Pearson Avenue Southwest.
