Arrest Made in Robbery Investigation

The Birmingham Police Department reports detectives have obtained a warrant for an arrest in connection to a robbery investigation at 700 Valley Avenue.

The suspect has been identified as:

Timothy Boggan, (20), B/M, of Birmingham, Alabama.

On Friday, March 25, 2022, a community member was robbed at gunpoint of personal belongings in the 700 block of Valley Avenue. The suspect was armed with a handgun and fired shots at the victim.

On Thursday, March 31, 2022, the suspect turned himself into police custody at the Birmingham Police Headquarters.

Birmingham Police Detectives presented information on the case to the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office. After an assessment of the information, detectives obtained warrants for Robbery 1st Degree ($60,000) and Attempted Murder ($60,000).

Timothy Boggan is currently in the custody of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.

 Help Identify Armed Robbery Suspect

The Birmingham Police Department reports detectives are conducting a robbery investigation. Detectives requests assistance from the public in identifying a suspect in the attached video and photos.

On Friday, March 25, 2022, a community member was robbed at gunpoint of personal belongings in the 700 block of Valley Avenue. The suspect was armed with a handgun and fired shots at the victim. A service station nearby captured video and photos of the suspect.

If there is anyone with information on the identity of the suspect, we ask that they

contact BPD Robbery Detectives at 205-254-1753 or remain anonymous by contacting Crime Stoppers at 205-254-7777.

Anonymous tips can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers through the Birmingham Police Department’s Mobile App. Simply download the app and submit a tip. Updates will be provided as information becomes available. If the tip to Crime Stoppers leads to an arrest, Crime Stoppers will provide a cash reward.
