Public’s Assistance in the Mia Nickson Homicide Investigation

Detectives request assistance from the public in obtaining information on the murder of Mia Nickson. The homicide occurred on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, in the 800 Block of Green Crest Turn. 

At approximately 1:45 a.m., East Precinct officers were dispatched to a Person Shot call at a residence in the 800 Block of Green Crest Turn.

Officers arrived on the scene when they observed the victim lying unresponsive in the driveway of the residence; she was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel arrived on the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.

The preliminary investigation suggests an unknown suspect(s) shot the victim while she was outside her residence. The suspect fled the scene.

Homicide Investigation

The Birmingham Police Department is conducting a homicide investigation. The incident occurred on Wednesday, January 10, 2024.

The victim has been identified as:

Mia Nickson, (21), B/F, of Birmingham, Alabama.

At approximately 1:45 a.m., East Precinct officers were dispatched to a Person Shot call at a residence in the 800 Block of Green Crest Turn.

Officers arrived on the scene when they observed the victim lying unresponsive in the driveway of the residence; she was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

There is no one in custody.
