Homicide Investigation
The Birmingham Police Department is conducting a homicide investigation. The incident occurred on Tuesday, April 30, 2024.
The victim has been identified as:
Andre Derrel Perry, (38), B/M, of Birmingham, Alabama.
At approximately 10:03 p.m., East Precinct officers responded to a Domestic Disturbance call in the 1500 Block of Cedargate Circle. While en route, the call was updated to a Person Shot.
When officers arrived on the scene and entered the residence, they observed the victim inside, lying on the floor unresponsive, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
Birmingham fire and Rescue Services arrived on the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.
The preliminary investigation suggests a domestic altercation occurred between the victim and his wife that lead to gunshots fired, fatally wounding the victim.
The suspect is in custody.
