Homicide Investigation
The Birmingham Police Department is conducting a homicide investigation. The incident occurred on Thursday, October 26, 2023.
The victim has been identified as:
Kevin J. Davis, (41), B/M, of Birmingham, Alabama.
At approximately 6:00 AM West Precinct officers were dispatched to a call of a person down in the 300 Block of Lexington Street.
Officers arrived on the scene and observed an adult male lying on the side of the roadway unresponsive.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue arrived on the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s office arrived on the scene and took care and custody of the victim.
The Jefferson County Medical Examiner’s Office has concluded that the victim’s cause of death was a gunshot wound.
The details are limited in this investigation.
There is no one in custody.
