Arrest Made in the Andre Derrel Perry Homicide Investigation
The Birmingham Police Department reports detectives have obtained a warrant for an arrest in connection to the murder of Andre Derrel Perry. He was shot and killed on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, in the 1500 Block of Cedargate Circle.
The suspect has been identified as:
Lasha Patrice Thomas, (38), B/F, of Birmingham, Alabama.
On Thursday, May 2, 2024, Birmingham Police Detectives presented case information to the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office. After an assessment of the information, detectives obtained a warrant for Murder.
Lasha Patrice Thomas is in the custody of the Jefferson County Jail, and she has No Bond.

Homicide Investigation
The Birmingham Police Department is conducting a homicide investigation. The incident occurred on Tuesday, April 30, 2024.
The victim has been identified as:
Andre Derrel Perry, (38), B/M, of Birmingham, Alabama.
At approximately 10:03 p.m., East Precinct officers responded to a Domestic Disturbance call in the 1500 Block of Cedargate Circle. While en route, the call was updated to a Person Shot.
When officers arrived on the scene and entered the residence, they observed the victim inside, lying on the floor unresponsive, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
Birmingham fire and Rescue Services arrived on the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.
The preliminary investigation suggests a domestic altercation occurred between the victim and his wife that lead to gunshots fired, fatally wounding the victim.
The suspect is in custody.
