Homicide Investigation
The Birmingham Police Department is conducting a homicide investigation. The incident occurred on Monday, July 3, 2023.
The victim has been identified as:
Salhadine Didler Adamou, (22), B/M, of Bessemer, Alabama
At approximately 2:30 AM, a North Precinct officer was responding to an unrelated call, when the officer was flagged downed in the 1100 Block of 4th Avenue North on two people shot.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue arrived on the scene and transported the two (2) victims to UAB Hospital where one (1) victim was pronounced deceased.
The preliminary investigation suggests the victims were shot in the area of the listed location. When the addition responding officers arrived on the scene, they attempted lifesaving measure prior to BFRS’s arrival. Currently, the circumstances surrounding the shooting is unclear.
This is an ongoing investigation by the Homicide Division.
There is no one in custody.

The Birmingham Police Department adheres to FBI Uniform Crime Reporting guidelines set for all law enforcement agencies across the United States. FBI Uniform Crime Reporting guidelines do not require law enforcement agencies to include justifiable death investigations in the total homicide investigations counts.
