Operation Knight Rider Continuation

The Birmingham Police Department would like to provide additional updates on Operation Knight Rider. During the week of May 6th – 12th, BPD efficiently deployed resources across different city locations, resulting in 19 arrests, impounding of 7 vehicles (including 3 stolen vehicles), and seizure of 11 firearms.

The suspects apprehended during this operation are as follows:

1. Clantarius Armstrong, (33), B/M, of Birmingham, Al. (Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Felony Bench Warrant, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia). He was booked into the Jefferson County Jail.

2. Makia Arrington, (29), B/F, of Fairfield, Al. (Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession with the Intent to Distribute and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree). She was booked into the Jefferson County Jail. 1 handgun seized.

3. Emya Bass, (22), B/F, of Birmingham, Alabama. (Exhibition Driving). She was booked into the Birmingham City Jail. 1 AR pistol seized.

4. Jaylon Butler, (30), B/M, of Birmingham, Alabama. (Felony Attempt to Elude, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree, and Speeding Reasonable and Prudent). He was booked into the Jefferson County Jail. 1 handgun seized.

5. Adarius Colston, (21), B/M, of Birmingham, Alabama. (Receiving Stolen Property 1st Degree), Felony Eluding and Reckless Endangerment- Homewood Charges. He was booked into the Jefferson County Jail. 1 handgun seized.

6. James Evans, (31), B/M, of Birmingham, Al. (Felony Attempt to Allude). He was booked into the Jefferson County Jail.

7. Eddie Harris, (40), B/M, of Birmingham, Al. (Failure to Appear [FTA]Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance and FTA Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 1st Degree). He was booked into the Jefferson County Jail.

8. Terrell Howard, (31), B/M, of Birmingham, Alabama. (Trafficking, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 1st Degree and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia). He was booked into the Jefferson County Jail. 2 handguns seized.

9. Fredrick Jackson, (38), B/M, of Birmingham Alabama. (Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 1st Degree, Unlawful Possession with Intent Distribute and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia). He was booked into the Jefferson County Jail.

10. Jatyron Julius, (21), B/M, of Birmingham, Alabama. (Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree). He was booked into the Birmingham City Jail.

11. William Lockett, (33), B/M, of Birmingham, Alabama. (Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree, Illegal Possession of a Prescription and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia). He was booked into the Birmingham City Jail.

12. Richard Morrow, (37), B/M, of Birmingham, Alabama. (Robbery 3rd Degree). He was booked
into the Jefferson County Jail.

13. De’Michael Nollie, (23), B/M, of Birmingham, Alabama. (Felony Attempt to Elude). He was booked into the Jefferson County Jail. 1 handgun seized.

14. Charles Pruitt, (22), B/M, of Birmingham, Alabama. (Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 1st Degree, Unlawful Possession with the Intent to Distribute, and Theft of Property 2nd Degree). He was booked into the Jefferson County Jail. 3 handguns seized and (2 Glock switches).

15. Javoris Reasor, (27), B/M, of Homewood, Alabama. (DV Suffocation). He was booked into the Jefferson County Jail.

16. Sami Rowaid, (18), O/M, of Vestavia, Alabama. (Exhibition Driving). He was booked into the Birmingham City Jail.

17. Antarrius Sanders, (20), B/M, of Birmingham, Alabama. (Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 1st Degree and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia). He was booked into the Jefferson County Jail.

18. Romond Underwood, (30), B/M, of Midfield, Alabama. (Trafficking, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia). He was booked into the Jefferson County Jail.

19. Tevin Zeigler, (31), B/M, of Birmingham, Alabama. (Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 1st Degree and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia). He was booked into the Jefferson County Jail.

RECAP

Operation Knight Rider, a street enforcement operation designed to combat illegal exhibition driving and street racing in Birmingham, officially began on April 12, 2024.

In one month, from April 12 to May 12, 2024, the operation has yielded 34 total arrests, with 3 cases that have been presented to the United States Attorney’s Office for potential Federal prosecution. The total arrests include 45 felony charges, 32 misdemeanor charges, 10 exhibition driving-related charges and 9 felony “Fleeing or Attempting to Elude a Law Enforcement Officer” charges.

Officers have also recovered 9 stolen vehicles and impounded a total of 25 vehicles.

The operation has resulted in the seizure of 22 weapons: 1 rifle and 22 handguns, 3 of which were equipped with machine-gun conversion devices (“switches”).

Officers have also recovered various controlled substances, including 4.1 lbs. of Marijuana, 39 grams of Cocaine, 228 grams of Methamphetamine and $11,723 seized as suspected drug proceeds.
