Homicide Investigation
The Birmingham Police Department reports detectives are conducting a homicide investigation. The incident occurred on Saturday, December 28, 2019 at approximately 1:55 p.m.
The deceased has been identified as:
Rickey Lane Hunter Jr. B/M, (48) of Birmingham, AL
Officers from the West Precinct responded to a call of a person shot at 1541 Tuscaloosa Ave SW. Upon arrival officers discovered the victim unresponsive on the ground in the parking lot suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Birmingham Fire and Rescue along with Jefferson County Coroner responded to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.
There are no suspect(s) in custody. Detectives have not established a clear motive in this investigation.
