Homicide Investigation
The Birmingham Police Department reports detectives are conducting a homicide investigation. The incident occurred on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at 526 Beacon Crest Circle.
The victim has been identified as Justin Devon Wade, (22), b/m, of Birmingham, Alabama.
At approximately 9:00 p.m., South Precinct Officers responded to a call of a person shot at the location. Officers arrived and discovered Justin Wade lying in a breezeway outside of an apartment suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Birmingham Fire and Rescue responded to the scene and transported the victim to UAB Hospital. Wade succumb to his injuries and was pronounced deceased by hospital staff.
The preliminary investigation indicates the victim was targeted. No arrest has been made. Updates will be provided as this case develops.
