Media Release 135-Homicide Investigation-10th Place & 22nd Avenue West

Homicide Investigation

The Birmingham Police Department reports detectives are conducting a homicide investigation. The incident occurred on Saturday July 9, 2022.

The victim has been identified as Joshua Thomas, (25), B/M, of Fultondale, Alabama. 

At approximately 1:00 a.m., West Precinct Officers responded to 10th Place and 22nd Ave West (abandoned East Thomas Apartment Property) on a call of a person shot. Officers arrived and discovered a male victim in the middle of the roadway suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim succumb to his injuries on the scene and was pronounced deceased by Birmingham Fire and Rescue.

Details of what lead to this incident are limited. No arrest has been made.
