Arrest Made in the Alpatrick Mckinstry Homicide Investigation

The Birmingham Police Department reports detectives have obtained a warrant for an arrest in connection to the murder of Alpatrick Mckinstry. Mr. Mckinstry was shot and killed on Monday, May 23, 2022, in the 1300 Block of 60^th Street Ensley.

The suspect has been identified as:

Tykirel Jordan, (24), B/F, of Birmingham, Alabama.

Birmingham Police Detectives presented information on the case to the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office. After an assessment of the information, detectives obtained a warrant for Capital Murder.

West Precinct officers took Tykirel Jordan into custody on Monday, May 23, 2022, in Fairfield, Alabama. She was booked into the Birmingham City Jail.

Tykirel Jordan will be transported to the Jefferson County Jail and held with No Bond.

Section 13A-5-40 (20)

Murder by the defendant in the presence of a child under the age of 14 years at the time of the offense if the victim was the parent or legal guardian of the child. For purposes of this subsection, “in the presence of a child” means in the physical presence of a child or having knowledge that a child is present and may see or hear the act.
