15-Year-Old Shot in West Birmingham
The Birmingham Police Department reports a shooting investigation is underway after a 15-year-old was shot in the Jones Valley neighborhood.
At around 1:30 p.m., West Precinct officers were dispatched to a Person Shot call in the 3100 Block of Parklawn Avenue.
Officers arrived on the scene and then observed a 15-year-old male lying off the roadway; he was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel arrived on the scene and transported the victim to UAB Hospital. The victim has life-threatening injuries.
The preliminary investigation has revealed an unknown suspect(s) shot the victim and then fled the scene in a vehicle.
We believe the victim was targeted.
There is no one in custody.
