Homicide Investigation
The Birmingham Police Department is conducting a homicide investigation. The incident occurred on Wednesday, May 31, 2023.
The victim has been identified
Anthony Embry, (29), B/M, of Birmingham, Alabama.
At approximately 2:00 PM, East Precinct officers were dispatched to the 900 Block of 52nd Way North on report of a Person Shot.
Officers arrived on the scene and entered a residence when they observed the victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel arrived on the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.
Details are limited in this investigation.
There is no one in custody.
