Arrest Made in the Mya Parker Homicide Investigation
The Birmingham Police Department reports detectives have obtained a warrant for an arrest in connection to the murder of Mya Parker. She was shot and killed on Sunday, May 26, 2024, in the 1000 Block of Graymont Avenue.
The suspect has been identified as:
Jeremiah Pressley, (23), B/M, of Birmingham, Alabama.
Jeremiah Pressley turned himself in to police custody over the weekend.
Birmingham Police Detectives presented case information to the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office. After an assessment of the information, detectives obtained a warrant for Capital Murder (Victim inside a vehicle).
Jeremiah Pressley is in the custody of the Jefferson County Jail where he is being held with No Bond.

Homicide Investigation

The Birmingham Police Department is conducting a homicide investigation. The incident occurred on Sunday, May 26, 2024.
The victim has been identified as:
Mya Parker, (19), B/F, of Birmingham, Alabama.
At around 4:30 a.m., West Precinct officers were dispatched to 10th Street West @ Graymont Avenue on report of a Person Shot.
Officers arrived on the scene when they observed a vehicle off the roadway. Upon further investigation of the vehicle, officers located the victim and an adult female. Both females were suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel arrived and transported both victims to local area hospitals. Medical staff pronounced Mya Parker deceased. The second victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Details are limited in this investigation.
