Homicide Investigation
The Birmingham Police Department is conducting a homicide investigation. The incident occurred on Tuesday, June 18, 2024.
The victim has been identified as:
Jonathan Terrance Wynn, (28), B/M, of Birmingham, Alabama.
Just before 9 p.m., North Precinct officers were dispatched to a report of Shots Fired in the 700 Block of 8th Terrace West.
Officers arrived on the scene and then were led to a parking lot at a set of apartments. While in the parking lot, officers observed the victim unresponsive inside a vehicle. The victim had been shot.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel arrived and pronounced the victim deceased.
The preliminary investigation suggests the victim was inside his vehicle when an unknown suspect(s) shot him in a targeted shooting.
There is no one in custody.
