Arrest Made in the Holli Jo Wilson Homicide Investigation

The Birmingham Police Department reports detectives have obtained a warrant for an arrest in connection to the murder of Holli Jo Wilson. The incident occurred on Sunday, July 24, 2022, in the 3100 Block of 30th Court North.

The suspect has been identified as:

Fessor Mckinney, (55), B/M, of Birmingham, Alabama.

Fessor Mckinney voluntarily turned himself into police custody at the Birmingham Police Headquarters.

Birmingham Police Detectives presented information on the case to the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office. After an assessment of the information, detectives obtained a warrant for Capital Murder- Kidnapping 1st Degree. See details below for specifics of the Capital Charges.

Fessor Mckinney will be transported to the Jefferson County Jail held under No Bond.

It is believed the victim and suspect were in a dating relationship.

Note: Mr. Mckinney was charged with Capital Murder under Section 13A-5-40(1) (1) Murder by the defendant during a kidnapping in the first degree or an attempt thereof committed by the defendant.

Homicide Investigation

The Birmingham Police Department is conducting a homicide investigation. The incident occurred on Sunday, July 24, 2022.

The victim has been identified as:

Holli Jo Wilson, (38), W/F, of Birmingham, Alabama. 

At approximately 5:00 AM, North Precinct officers were dispatched to the 3100 Block of 30th Court North on report of a person down inside of a residence.

Officers arrived at the residence when they entered inside and observed an adult female victim lying unresponsive.

Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel arrived on the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.

The preliminary investigation has revealed evidence on the scene indicates a homicide took place at the location.

Currently, there is no suspect in custody.
