Arrest Made in Homicide Investigation
The Birmingham Police Department reports an arrest has been made in connection to the murder of 52 year old Brian Keith Fleming. Fleming was murdered on January 3, 2021.
The suspect has been identified as a 17 juvenile of Birmingham, Alabama. The identity will be withheld due to the age of the defendant.
Detectives presented information gathered on the case to the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office for review. A Murder Warrant was obtained for the defendant’s arrest. The defendant will be held in the custody of the Jefferson County Jail on a $100,000 bond.

Homicide Investigation Update
The Birmingham Police Department reports the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim of a homicide that occurred on Sunday, January 3, 2021.
The victim has been identified as: Brian Fleming, (52), B/M, of Birmingham, Alabama.

Homicide Investigation
The Birmingham Police Department is conducting a homicide investigation. The incident occurred on Sunday, January 3, 2021.
The victim will be identified pending notification to the next of kin.
At approximately 8:45 pm, West Precinct officers were dispatched to 2108 Warrior Road on report of a person down. Several citizens began calling the Birmingham 911 Communications Division reporting gunshots they heard in the area. Officers arrived on the scene where they located a victim lying unresponsive in the parking lot of an apartment complex suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel arrived on the scene and pronounced the victim deceased. Details are limited in this investigation.
