Homicide Investigation
The Birmingham Police Department is conducting a homicide investigation. The incident occurred on Sunday, June 13, 2021.
The victim has been identified as:
Lykeria Taylor, (21), B/F, of Birmingham, Alabama.
At approximately 2:20 a.m., West Precinct officers responded to a person shot at the intersection of Avenue V @ Warrior Road. Shot Spotter also alerted officers of rounds fired in the area. Officers arrived on the scene and located two adult victims suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. An adult male was struck by gunfire along with the victim.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel transported the victims to a local area hospital. The male suffered a non-life-threatening injury. The victim suffered life-threatening injuries. On Monday, June 14, 2021, the victim succumbed to her injuries at UAB Hospital.
The preliminary investigation suggests the victims had just left Club Euphoria (#7 15th Street West) when an unknown vehicle pulled up alongside them and fired shots into their vehicle.
