Homicide Investigation

The Birmingham Police Department reports detectives are conducting a homicide investigation. The incident occurred on Monday, January 11, 2021.

The victim has been identified as Lacorey McDonald, (31), B/M, of Alabaster, Alabama.

Just before 8:30 p.m., officers from East Precinct responded to St. Vincent’s East Hospital after being notified of the arrival of a wounded gunshot victim. The victim, Corey McDonald was transported to the emergency room by private vehicle. The McDonald sustained multiple gunshot wounds. McDonald succumb to his injuries and was pronounced deceased by St. Vincent Hospital staff.

Details are limited in this investigation. There are no suspects in custody.
