Unclassified Death Investigation
The Birmingham Police Department is conducting an unclassified death investigation. The incident occurred on Tuesday, August 23, 2022.
The victims will be identified upon notification to the next of kin.
At approximately 11:15 AM, Birmingham Public Works personnel discovered two decomposed bodies in the 500 Block of Cambridge Street. The victims are believed to be an adult male and an adult female.
Currently, we have not ruled out foul play in this investigation. The Jefferson Coroner’s Office will take care and custody of the victims. The Jefferson County Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct an autopsy to determine the manner of death in this case.
