Homicide Investigation
The Birmingham Police Department is conducting a homicide investigation. The incident occurred on Monday, July 29, 2024.
The victim has been identified as:
Ladarrius Kennedy, (31), B/M, of Birmingham, Alabama.
At approximately 10:50 p.m., West Precinct officers were dispatched to a Person Shot call at 1017 3rd Avenue West.
Officers arrived on the scene when they observed the victim lying unresponsive on the sidewalk suffering from a gunshot wound.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel arrived and transported the victim to UAB Hospital. On Tuesday, August 6, 2024, the victim succumbed to his injuries.
