Homicide Investigation

The Birmingham Police Department is conducting a homicide investigation. The incident occurred on Sunday, August 9, 2021.

The victim has been identified as:
Lebriel Davis, (15), B/M, of Birmingham, Alabama.

At approximately 11:15 p.m., North Precinct officers were dispatched to the 700 block of 3rd Avenue West on report of a person shot. Officers arrived on the scene where they learned the victim had been transported to Princeton Hospital (private vehicle) after suffering a gunshot wound. Princeton Hospital staff pronounced the victim deceased.

The preliminary investigation suggests several individuals began firing multiple weapons in the area. There is no suspect in custody at this time.
