Public’s Assistance with the Demetris Silliman Jr. Homicide Investigation

Detectives request assistance from the public in obtaining information in the Demetris Silliman Jr Homicide Investigation; he was killed on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, while at the intersection of Pennfield Drive and Zion City Road.

At about 1:30 AM, Birmingham Police responded to a call of a person shot in a vehicle at the intersection of Penfield Drive and Zion City Road.

Officers arrived on the scene and observed a Black 2010 Chevrolet Impala off the roadway. Upon further investigation, officers observed Demetris Silliman Jr. inside the vehicle; he was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Birmingham Fire and Rescue arrived at the location and pronounced the victim deceased.

Homicide Investigation

(Media Release 207-2022)

The Birmingham Police Department is conducting a homicide investigation. The incident occurred on Tuesday, October 11, 2022.

The victim has been identified as:

Demetris Lendell Silliman, Jr., (21), B/M, of Center Point, Alabama.

At about 1:30 AM, Birmingham Police responded to a call of person shot in a vehicle at the intersection of Penfield Drive and Zion City Road.

Birmingham Fire and Rescue arrived at the location and pronounced the victim deceased.

There are no suspects in custody. Details are limited in this investigation.
