Media Release 214 – Homicide Investigation – 10 Block of Elba Avenue
The Birmingham Police Department is conducting a homicide investigation. The incident occurred on Tuesday, October 25, 2022.
The victim has been identified as:
Keyon Pollock (22), B/M, of Birmingham, Alabama.
On Monday, October 24, 2022, at approximately 10:10 PM, Birmingham 9-1-1 received call regarding a person shot in the 10 block of Elba Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service arrived to the scene and transported the victim to UAB Hospital with life threatening injuries. The victim succumbed to his injuries a few hours later.
Preliminary investigation suggests the victim walked up to a residence and asked for them to call for help as he had been shot.
Currently, there is no one in custody.
