Arrest Made in the Double Homicide Investigation of Jacquic Little & Damon Thomas

The Birmingham Police Department reports detectives have obtained a warrant for an arrest in connection to the Double Homicide Investigation of Jacquic Little & Damon Thomas. Jacquic Little & Damon Thomas were shot and killed on Sunday, October 15, 2023 in the 1800 Block. 

The suspect has been identified as:

Charles Dunnigan III, (22), B/M, of Bessemer, Alabama. 

On Monday, October 16, 2023, Birmingham Police Detectives presented case information to the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office. After an assessment of the information, detectives obtained a warrant for Capital Murder.

On Tuesday, October 17, 2023, the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office along with the 17th Judicial Taskforce arrested Charles Dunnigan III in York, Alabama.

He will later be transported to the Jefferson County Jail and held with No Bond.

Double Homicide Investigation

(Media Release 216)

The Birmingham Police Department is conducting a double homicide investigation. The incident occurred on Sunday, October 15, 2023.

The victims have been identified as:

  1. Jacquic Little, (24), B/F, of Birmingham, Alabama
  2. Damon Thomas, (28), B/M, of Fairfield, Alabama.

At approximately 2:28 a.m., West Precinct officers were dispatched to a ShotSpotter alert in the 1800 Block of Fulton Avenue Southwest. Officers were updated that a male was shot at a residence.

Officers arrived on the scene and then entered the residence when they discovered both victims inside suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel arrived on the scene and pronounced both victims deceased.

Details are limited in this investigation.

There is no one in custody.
