Arrest Made in Robbery Investigation
The Birmingham Police Department reports detectives have obtained a warrant for an arrest in connection to a robbery investigation at the Best Convenience Store located at 1744 Pearson Avenue Southwest. The robbery occurred on Sunday, October 23, 2022
The suspect has been identified as:
Derrick Hardy, (23), B/M, of Birmingham, Alabama.
Birmingham Police Detectives presented information on the case to the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office. After an assessment of the information, detectives obtained a warrant for Robbery 1st Degree.
Derrick Hardy was arrested in Birmingham. Derrick Hardy is currently in the custody of the Jefferson County Jail under $60,000.

Robbery Investigation

The Birmingham Police Department reports detectives are conducting a robbery investigation. Detectives requests assistance from the public in identifying a suspect in the attached photo and video.
On Sunday, October 23, 2022, the Best Convenience Store (1744 Pearson Avenue Southwest) was robbed at gunpoint. The suspect reportedly walked into the business and pointed a handgun at the store associate; he stole merchandise from the business and then left on foot. No injuries were reported.
The suspect was described as a black male wearing a yellow shirt and black and white jogging pants; he was armed with a handgun.
