Homicide Investigation
The Birmingham Police Department is conducting a homicide investigation. The incident occurred on Saturday, October 21, 2023.
The victim as been identified as:
Aloysius Astrada Tobias Finn, (42), B/M, of Birmingham, Alabama.
At approximately 3:25 PM East Precinct officers were dispatched to a Person Shot call in the 9100 Block of 14th Avenue North.
Officers arrived on the scene and observed an adult male unresponsive in a field of a church, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel arrived on the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.
The details are limited in this investigation.
A person of interest has been detained.
